CONTENTLESS MARKETING

What the talk is about

Most content on websites exists because of SEO. Articles like "10 reasons to consider teeth whitening" are neither read nor shared, and often don't even rank. Jono Alderson is a technical SEO, spent years as head of SEO at Yoast and owns Days of the Year, a site with over a million visits a month. He argues this model is ending, because Google has enough content and solves more and more queries itself, right in the results.

You'll learn why keyword research leads every company to the same hundred keywords, why Jono thinks the internet is "functionally full", and what zero-click searches and Google's generative answers mean for organic search, PPC and affiliates. Jono advises helping your audience solve problems as early as possible, being the "first click" rather than the "last click", and behaving like a publisher. In the Q&A he describes how he is preparing his own site for the change.
