What the talk is about
From 2011 Google gradually stopped passing search keywords to websites, and by September 2013 the share of "(not provided)" in Analytics was close to 100 %. Mike King, who had just left the agency iAcquire to work as an independent consultant, explains why it doesn't worry him: keywords were only ever a proxy for understanding the person searching.
You'll learn how to build personas from market segmentation data and social ad tools, how to do keyword research with audience surveys, and how to measure cohorts in Google Analytics by age, gender and affinity segment. Mike shows the shift from explicit to implicit intent with a reading-glasses example and gives a list of steps you can take straight away.
