On top of being a renowned expert on search, Rand has a pretty impressive streak of business ventures as well – most notably, he founded and built the successful SEO empire of Moz. These days, he can usually be found educating marketers across the globe and helping startups grow.
Rand Fishkin is CEO and co-founder of SparkToro, an audience research software company he started in 2018 with Casey Henry. Earlier he co-founded Moz, which he grew to more than 200 employees over 17 years, and Inbound.org. He wrote Lost and Founder (2018), co-authored Zero Click Marketing, and in 2026 launched Alertmouse, a replacement for Google Alerts.
