James Hankins
Marketing strategist; co-creator of Share of Search
James is a highly acclaimed award-winning strategist and co-author of the new Share of Search metric that he created together with the legendary Les Binet. They claim it’s a remarkably accurate proxy for complex market research and we’re delighted that James will join this year’s Festival both with a masterclass on how to best approach SoS and also with a live Q&A session addressing any questions from the audience.
James Hankins is a British marketing strategist who developed the Share of Search metric with Les Binet; his IPA work found that a brand's share of category searches tracks its market share closely. He also created the Hankins Hexagon model. He has worked across UK media agencies, including Walker Media, as a consultant through Vizer Consulting and client-side, most recently as Global VP Marketing Strategy and Planning at Sage. He writes the blog The EQ Planner.
