What the talk is about
Anyone doing retargeting and analytics collects data their company is liable for. Aurélie Pols has worked in analytics for about 15 years, lives in Spain and, together with a group of lawyers, founded Mind Your Group and Mind Your Privacy, which bridge analytics and data protection. In this short 2013 talk she gives marketers and analysts five tips for staying out of legal trouble.
You'll learn what being a data controller means, why to read the contracts with your tools and close access when projects end, and why most data breaches come down to human error. Aurélie explains why to talk to lawyers well before launch day, why to think about user consent and where your data goes, and adds three questions for anyone working with personal data.
